Gil Markovitz, an opera singer, dancer, and performance artist. She has performed with the ׳Rina Schenfeld Dance Theater׳, the ׳Zagopa Ensemble׳ at Hasimta Theater and created the dance-theatre performance ׳From Silence to Storm׳, to which she recorded an original soundtrack and guided three performers through a movement-expression process.

Gil is the creator of two musical lectures – an original lecture-performance format in which relevant academic knowledge joins performances of popular music. The songs and text come together to convey complex messages in a fun atmosphere.

Gil is the creator of the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation’s HaMa’abada (“The Lab”), a daily educational radio program and podcast which she edited and hosted for four years. Gil specializes in developing formats for making diverse academic knowledge more accessible to the public and lately she concluded a pairing project between academic researchers from The Hebrew University in Jerusalem and artists who are interested in a similar question and carries different approaches to it. The shared process enlarges their "toolbox" of research and their understanding of the subject matter
